I love these Murals which are part of a Car Parking area in the CBD. The Man With The Green Beard seems to be watching all traffic intensly. That's human and vehicle traffic!
Interesting to see so many people of African background now living in Australia. Many have come over from the Congo, Somalia and other nations, as refugees.

CITY LIFE IN ADELAIDE
In the past few days, I have been shooting street scenes in the CBD of my hometown, Adelaide. One of the things I have realized by doing this, is it's real cosmopolitan flavour. Where have the REAL AUSSIES, gone!! It is a University city, and with it's temperate climate and easy going lifestyle, it draws students from around the globe, mostly Asia. Not exactly a throbbing Metropolis, but busy enough for me!
I will be posting a few scenes each day, hope you enjoy my little insight into Life in Adelaide...

ANGELS AND CROSSES.
Been out night shooting, tonight.
I love all the various colours of the lights, and how different everything looks.
Walking along North Terrace, I was struck by the gigantic size the angel at the War Memorial, and how incongruous it is to it's surrounds. It almost commands to be worshipped, as one of the figures below, seems to be doing. I am also struck by the red post box in the foreground of the one photograph, it reminds me of the blood of Jesus spilt on the cross at Calvary. The danger sign on the left makes me think of how precarious our lives are, on planet Earth.
I enjoyed playing around with the crosses, and the colours projected by the various lights, I think they leave me with an eerie feeling...
Annette was'nt too pleased with me when I returned to the car, I had been away for almost an hour!! Sorry, darlingxx

WAR MEMORIAL-BURNSIDE
On Anzac Day recently, wreaths were laid at war memorials across Australia and other nations, to commemorate and honour those Aus and NZ soldiers that have fought in various battles over the years.
I photographed this War Memorial in my neighbourhood of Burnside, today, which commemorates soldiers that fell in the Great War of 1914-1918.
Timothy and Jaimee were playing around it, in the rain......

Gnome Garden
Found a really interesting garden of Gnomes, today. was photographing them, when out popped Penny and Brian, the retired owners of this work of art! They have been slowly building on to their collection of aeroplanes and gnomes over the past 2 years.
Someone left a bag full of old sunglasses on their front lawn, Brian quickly made sure some of the heads had a pair each to protect them form the harsh light, and of course to look cool!!
The garden is very popular by kids, they apparently have a grand time looking at all the collection. Brian and Penny obviously like all the attention...

SOCCER IN AFRICA
Have been working on a series of soccer images over the last 2 years. The photographs were taken around the Eastern Cape in South Africa, and in the mountainous areas of Lesotho. The Witteberge are a range of mountains situated at the Southern tip of the great Drakensberg Mountain Range.
I love photographing the people here, they are a salt of the earth people, without the hangups and attitudes of city dwellers! They are passionate about their soccer and play at any given opportunity. If a ball cannot be found, an old Coke can will do!
Most of the games between teams are played on "fields" that can be mere sandy patches in the middle of nowhere in very remote parts of the country.
I love the intensity of light , the colour, the enthusiasm of the players and the excitement of the unknown on my way there...
